Default bypass valve removal

I want to take my bypass valve off my AEM CAI. What's the best way of doing this, and how do I connect the two pieces? I've been told this bypass is not needed, and is robbing at least 5 hp. What do I need to connect the pipes? Someone told me I could get something at Home Depot and a clamp. What size? What kind?

thanks!!

The diameter of your pipe. Silicone is prefered.

On your gsr you will need 2.75" ID silicone. Options sells the hose made by AEM for 10 dollars. I bought one when I got a second filter, since I just remove the bottom in the rainy season.
