Stage 3 - 3/4 Race, recommended for mostly strip. Requires 84162 kit and ECU mod. 1100 to 8200+ rpm, lope at idle. Springs required. (18-21 hp).

84162 - KIT Honda/Acura 1.8L LS Dual Spring & Ti Retainers

Get the 403's if it's a daily driver. You can run them on stock springs and they add good power. The 404's would be OK too, but you'd need aftermarket valve springs, S-AFC, cam gears, and tuning to make them run right. If you have the money for all that at once, get the 404's. But the 403's are a great street cam for a car with stock rev limit and stock springs. I have the 403's and love them.

No, I had a shop do the install for about $100. My set-up now is i/h/e/cat/no ps belt/crower 403/aem cam gears/fpr/safc (all dyno tuned)/clutchmaster stage 1/ clutchmaster aluminum flywheel/and some weight reduction. I first just did the cams and gears and had them untuned at +2/-2. It idled alright, but died when it got hot. Then I got an FPR and got it dyno tuned and idled better. Now with the SAFC it idles perfectly and will even pass smog, numbers wise at least.

I have a couple questions. What company besides Crower makes cams for the LS nonVTEC motor?

You guys that installed 403 or 404s in your LS(with tuning etc.) how much of a difference do you feel? About how much would that knock off your e.t?

Thanks.

Yeah, I ran the car back in March when I had i/h/e/cat/no ps belt/crower 403/aem cam gears untuned at +2/-2. I also had some weight reduction. I ran a 15.1 and my high trap speed was 90 mph. The cams make power, evidenced by my time. They pull hard. You'll love them.

Tuning I'm sure made a big difference.

Also raising the redline would make an enormous difference.

crane cams make some too. they have some decent lookin profiles...

all other companys that i have found like gude and such use re-grinds

crane also makes a single valve spring and retainer combo for the ls as well
