Default Prelude Problem

I have had a few electrical problems latly all being pretty much the same, but ive only found bandaids for this not a perm fix.

I had a problem with alternator working, but not charging the battery, Ended up being a fuse blowing, so i replaced battery and some grounds that were bad, This fixed it for about 3 months

Just fyi its the Cruise Control, ECU, EAT ECU Fuse thats blowing.

Last night the same fuse blew, i traced it this time to a short the the Cruise control cuircit. I put a 10A in its place ( It calls for a 7.5, but i had went threw all 5 i had tracing the short. ) Now it is acting like its hitting a Rev limiter and mass popping at 3,000+ RPMS. Now it doesnt do this if fuse it out, But then i have no alternator.

Could the 2.5 More amps be causing a problem in the ECU?

I dont think it would be the fuse... it sounds like a short somewhere...

I thought of that too, But i dont think a short would occur after 3months of being fixed. i think something else happened at the same time my fuse blew.

Sounds like a rev limiter at anything above 3,000 rpms but it makes a horriable loud popping and sputtering

Could be a short in the alternator itself. I had a similar problem in my civic. The fuse would blow and I would lose alternator and speedometer. Could be totally different, but the alternator turned out to be the culprit in my case.
