2000 em1 Can the IACV be taken APART???
hello i have idle problems and today i cleaned the crap out of my iacv. however, i stumbled upon this website and the person says the blade inside the 2nd hole on my IACV should be spinning freely. well when i was cleaning it, the blade was not spinning at all. i just want to verify that yes the blade screw thingy is SUPPOSE to spin freely.

hmmm ok.... get 2 wires.... strip each end.... pull your iacv off the car.... stick one wire into each of your battery terminals so you have a positive and negative wire. dont let them touch lol..... then touch each wire to one prong on the iacv plug. that is "jumping" the iacv. if it clicks... that means the solenoid is activating which means its good. if it doesnt click, you either arent touching the wires good enough, or the iacv is bad and requires replacement.
understand?

Double check the electrical connector you have plugged into the IACV, I had a problem with it and after reading wiring diagrams I had plugs wrong. The IAT and EVAP sensor that are right next to it all have the same plug.
On 92-95 honda:
IAT is red/yel and Grn/White
IACV is Blu/Yel and Yel/blk
EVAP: Solid Red and Yel/blk
I'd imagine they'd be pretty similar on a 2000.
If those are correct try cleaning your IACV again, fill the section with the valve with carb cleaner and let soak, then rinse with more carb cleaner and let dry before reinstalling.
Is it throwing any codes?

I had the same problem and it was because I had the wrong cable conected ^^^^^
BTW I also have the IAT and EVAp cable disconected. Do they need to be conected?????
Thanks

Yes! The IAT tells the computer how hot/cold the air coming in is. The evap one isn't as important but it will help your gas mileage a little. If anyone needs help with which wires go to what let me know. I have most 92-2000 wiring diagrams.
yea can u please send me a diagram? im confused on the connectors, i only see ONE connector connected to my IACV. so it MUST be the right connector right? i dont c these other connectors u are mentioning
The IAT(intake air temperature sensor) is located on one of the intake runners and is held on by 2 screws. (D series it's on the back of the manifold I believe).
The EVAP is located on the back drivers side of the intake manifold. If you follow the vacuum lines from your carcol canister one of them runs to the sensor.
