OBD1 injector clips required for obd1 ecu?

If I'm going from an OBD2 ecu to OBD1, am I required to change my injector plugs as well?

The only reason you would need to change your injector plugs is if you change to a OBD1 style injector. Say like a set of RC 440 or DSM 450cc injectors would require you to change to injector plugs.

The ecu does not care if your running obd1 injectors or obd2 injectors (as long as they are both the same size).

At the risk of sounding stupid, what's the advantage to running an OBD1 style injector? Isn't a 440 a 440? Couldn't I get an OBD2 style 440 injector? This was all allot less complicated on my STI lol.
