Icon2 00 EM1 GOING LST... Need Info!!!

I spun a bearing in my B16A2 and now got ahold of a B18B built for boost(9:1). I'm going to get the Stock head machined (P&P, Angle Job, Upgrade Valvetrain & Stage 2 Cams w/Gears). I am also going P28 chipped w/Uberdata.

But at this time I don't have the funds to purchase the turbo setup and this is my DD. So I need some insight as how to tune this with no Turbo and what effect it will have (i.e. MPG, HP & Possible Negative Wear if any at all?). Basically a Built LST Longblock w/ NO TURBO!!!

Whats wrong with driving it around with now turbo? Its just as if your not going into boost. As long as its tuned right it should feel close to stock.

I don't know much about boosted setups but I'm not upgrading the Fuel System right now so I don't know what effect that will have with the way I should approach the tune.

Tune your setup like NA. It's going to be pig slow. You may even get away with using your P2T ECU. I don't have aggressive cams like you, but my CR is lower then stock. I got 28.8 mpg on the last tank and this is 90% in-city driving with a regular dose of VTEC. I'm using my P2T ecu.

My engine is built for boost, but i've been unboosted for over 2 years now.

You could probobly run on the stock map without problems... You would need to change over all the fueling and retune when you went turbo.

Stock fuel components will work just fine for a lower compression stock motor. You CAN tune it and have it run much nicer than just on the stock map but probobly not even THAT much more.

Also you don't run the same risks if the cars not turboed... people blow untuned turbo cars because there is a TON of compression in the cylinder in boost and if it pre-ignites it will blow things up... if you detonate on a N/A lowcomp block it's not really going to matter. You obviously don't want it to knock but it's not going to be a Ping/POP like it would be with a turbo motor in boost.

why not use the head from your b16? instead you are going to get the stock b18b head and put a ton of money into it and it still wont flow as well as a stock b16 head.
