Default proximity not working

I recently got my proximity installed in my 95 GSR and for some reason, it doesn't go off when people step near the car even when I set the sensitivity to the max. The proximity is located under the rear middle seat of my car. The alarm only goes off when I kick the wheel or something really loud drives by. Any ideas? Thanks

Proximity sensors do not work well if there us any metal above them.

Also need more info...
MM&Y of car?
Make and model of alarm?
Make and model of proximity sensor?
How was it wired to the alarm? 94

I'm not sure how it was wired to the alarm, but I see 4 different color wires connected to the proximity. Do you suggest that I should relocate the proximity?

You know what I notice on my proximity sensor when I got it installed. When the window is open it would warn me and go off and when the window is closed it would not do nothing, even set to the max.

So what I did is elevate the sensor a little bit higher and thats solve the problem.

Mine was installed underneath center cup holder area there are no metal in it, it sits on the carpet, then I put it in underneath my center arm rest. It has a elastic band to hold the sensor in place.

If you have no center arm rest try experimenting, it helps if you have a longer wire.

If its not working you may have to.

First thing to do is to find out what the problem is, start by removing the seat so sensor is exposed, arm the alarm and see if the prox. sensor will trigger the alarm, if it does then the problem will be that the metal frame of the seat is blocking the signal and the sensor will have to be relocated.
The other possibility is that the sensor is not adjusted properly, [sensitivity too low] symptom = will trigger alarm if hand waved very close to sensor, fix by turning sensitivity up.

If the sensor will not trigger the alarm at all, it is either defective or not wired to alarm properly, because the Clifford 50.5X does not have an "extra sensor input" the prox sensor should be wired into the shock sensor input along with the shock sensor, there is a specific way to wire a second sensor to the shock sensor input

Questions,
Does the shock sensor work properly, soft impact triggers warning mode, hard impact triggers full alarm mode?
where did you have the 508D installed, who installed it? 94

I got my alarm installed at a shop that does tints/alarms. They installed all of my friends' alarms, so I don't think that they do poor work. When I still had the shock sensor, it was extremely sensitive-to the point where it worked almost like a proximity. I will try to test the proximity when I have time and get back to you. Thanks for all the input. I really appreciate it.

Default proximity not working

are you sure you checked all the fuses, as there are 5 that are associated with the radio and you cannot just visually check them but need to test them for continuity with a meter.

Q: Where is X fuse?
A: #9, #14, And #20 under hood, #8 and #15 underdash

Say what???????
First, there are two fuses "associated" with the radio three if you count the illumination the first two are the 12V acc. and the 12V constant, I know of no other fuse for the radio in any Honda/Acura.

Second, and more important we are talking about a proximity sensor on an alarm system, not a radio or anything having to do with a radio. 94

The 508D sucks and I have never gotten one to work to my satisfaction. If it works when installed, a few days later when the weather changes it comes back. Then someone told me they can be affected by atmospheric pressure. Now I refuse to install them. Bad for customer service and my reputation.

Someone once recommended to install it in the headliner facing down. Tried that... seemed good at first. But a few days later I ripped it out in frustration.

Glass Break Sensor FTW.
