2000+ NON-HONDA Manual transmission equipped vehicles?
With new cars, it seems like less and less people are getting M/T. Even Honda is starting to discontinue them with their base model TL's. Lexus IS300's are really hard to fine with a 5sp, and you can only get a 5 or 6 speed in the IS250. IS350 is outta luck!
I wanted a new V6 Camry 6 speed, and the salesmen confirmed with the Toyota that they existed, but I didnt see them on their website. But I was unsure on which other V6 would share that transmission
What odd 4 door cars come equipped with manuals?

Non-Honda Accord??
FAIL....
Yeah a lot of VW's are coming out 5 speed and surprisingly, a lot of people purchase them.
Mercedes doesnt make any 5speed vehicles do they?

Bar Mercedes, almost all new cars here come with a manual tramsmission as standard, and 99% of people drive the MT versions. Bleurgh to AT. All this "flappy paddle" nonsense in today's faster cars depresses me greatly.

BMW 3 Series...Infiniti G...Audi A4 (not 6 cylinders, but still)...Pontiac G8...Cadillac CTS...Ford Fusion (not with the 6 cylinder, but still a midsize car with a 6 speed)...so on.
Basically all sedans that want to be seen as somewhat sports, excepting Mercedes.

There is no weakness in an automatic transmission.
It's the driver.
Ie the box in the G35... they rev match down shifts and hold gears up to redline
!! Same here, I never grew fond of the flaps those new automatic cars are getting. RIP manual transmission!!Imagine how much fun that car wouldve been if it was 6speed?
Dealer (one) in my area generally keep one on the lot as a price leader.

Edit. Not much of a price leader at $37K. Then again, must be the AMG wheels.
Are you sure?? I have not seen any new C class with 6 speed. I knew the previous generation came with a 6 speed since ive seen it in real life.

LOL @ the last sentence, it made me laugh ahahh. Mercedes FAILS.

99% of 4dr cars are DD's so whats the point in haveing to shift all the time? People have kids to worry about and with the way traffic is today manuals seem kinda stupid especially with the advancements the autos have now. Look ath the mustang, the 5r55s is JUST as quick as the 5spd. And the new Evo and ford tauraus SHO have 6spd clutchles manuals that are paddle operated and rev match for you. Kinda makes it idiot proof so you can f*ck something up with a mis-shift
It should be the other way around, they should charge more for manual transmissions due to factors of production.

Paddles are pretty boring, I would much rather shift and feel like I have control of the car.
But like I said earlier, I NEED a manual transmission equipped car since I get narcoleptic while driving.
If you didn't mind an "older" manual Honda, you'd have piece-of-mind just like a new car, except w/o the rediculous monthly payments. IMO that's the only reason to get a new non-Honda/yoda, for the warranty.
I'm curious why you don't want a Honda. Are you just looking for a flashy, upscale-looking car? And as far as Acuras are concerned, 97% of the population doesn't even know it's a Honda brand...

Regarding daily driving: DDing a car with a manual is so much better than automatic. Autos are boring and they make driving a chore. Changing your own gears and interacting with the engine makes driving infinitely more fun. I hate hearing people whine about "omg I have to use the clutch and shift all the time". Grow up.
And the kids argument is just lame. My mom bought a brand new Saab 900 with a manual transmission when she was pregnant with me and drove it not just during her pregnancy, but when she was pregnant with my sister, and throughout our childhood. If my mom (who is not a car enthusiast) will daily drive a 5 speed with two kids, I consider all child related excuses invalid.
If you like driving an automatic, or you don't care for shifting gears, that's a completely different story. Personal preference comes into play heavily. I love driving manual, just as some people don't care for it all. But I RARELY ever hear anyone simply say "I don't like driving manual", it's always a barrage of excuses, like they have something to hide. That's what gets my goat, more than anything.
Youre right, Mercedes manual trannies are trash. I wonder if they would see an increase in sales if they tried to get in the sports car sector of the car industry.
Manuals give cars a "sporty" edge. Im a fanatic of manuals and im sure many people are. Its kinda hard to get rid of your sporty coupe just because you have kids. With a manual sedan option, kinda takes away the "home sick" feeling.

And driving auto is boring if the car is slow. Just depends on what you enjoy about driving. I love winding motors out to redline, clipping apexes etc w/e. But at the same time, I can appreciate the isolation & cruise potential of a powerful luxury car.
Geography is important too. If I lived out in a place with curvy back roads I wouldn't want a big luxury car. Wouldn't make sense. But all I have are grids and highways. Out here anything close to a sports car makes no sense, given the traffic and all.
