Need help 91 Accord
I need Help, pictures below are what I'm missing, can anyone tell me what I'm missing. I think the plug in an 02 sensor but the others I'm not sure. Any help is good. Also I've been reading threads and it Most of them say that F22A1's are not V-TEC. Why is that?
Thank You.
Thank You.
VTEC - Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control
i think the question you want to ask is between DOHC VTEC and SOHC VTEC
DOHC- Double OverHead Camshaft
SOHC - Single OverHead Camshaft
im not positive but im pretty sure you have a H22A block and head
the H22a uses SOHC VTEC
its not a F22a

Here is my take on this.
The 90-93 Accords came with F22a motors in them, which are not VTEC motors, just standard SOHC 16-valve engines. My family has two of these CB7 Accords (I've got a '92 EX with an F22a6 and my father has a '91 LX with an F22a1) and it does look very much like the engine bay of a typical 90-93 Accord. However, it would appear that you at least have the VTEC head and quite possibly the entire VTEC motor from another Honda swapped into your car. Hopefully someone else on this site can help you identify which engine you have, all I can do is speculate that it is an H22 or H23 series motor.
In other words, you do not have the stock engine in your car (F22a_) and the other threads are correct in saying that the F22a1 is a non-VTEC motor.

reason being is head looks to be in fairly good condition, and block looks shitty.
