What would be the best camber adjustment for my DA?
I'm bout to get new tires, Skunk2 shocks with Skunk2 springs (2.5"F/2.25"R), and the Skunk2 adjustable front upper control arm.... What do you think would be the optimal camber adjustment w/ a 2.5" drop? Trying to actually get some life out of my tires for once,lol... I'm gonna ditch my ground control springs and start all fresh, but wanna get a good camber adjustment.... any info would be grand!!! Thanks guys!!!
Sweet... I appreciate it... I think I'm gonna do the 2 washer/bolt trick in the rear cause the back isn't too bad... I'm going through 3 front tires to every 1 rear tire,lol... the front is all jacked... I appreciate it man... I'll start with -2 front and 2 washers in the rear.
have you ever had the alignment done? or are you just tinkering with ride height and blaming the wear on the camber? Toe is affected as well when you lower and raise the car
well yeah, I know that.... and I don't doubt that's the problem... I'm getting the Skunk2 upper control arms, the Skunk2 springs, and the Skunk2 shocks because I like the spring/shock combo.... then I'm gonna adjust it... it's toeing like a mug and I need to get the camber straight... you can look at it and completely tell the camber is off, but I'm also sure the toe is off as well.... thats why I'm getting all new tires, fixing the camber, then having the tire shop do an alignment as well, when they put my tires on..... I never said a thing about blaming the tire ware on the camber or my car being lowered.... I'm doing all this to get my ride right.... I know it needs to be aligned, and I already planed on that after I adjust my camber to where it needs to be.... This whole topic was asking the optimal camber for a 2.5" drop... I figured I'd ask people that have f#@ked with it before.... I never said anything about the toe, cause I'm gonna leave that to the tire shop.... I'm not tinkering with the height of my suspension either... I just figured I might as well get the spring and shocks that I wanted, before adjusting my camber and toe, and then adjust it, and leave it at that.... It's not like I was thinking that if I lower my car a lil more, get shock, and adjust my camber, it'll be all good.... I just never mentioned an alignment, because that was a given... I simply just wanted to know about the camber in this situation.... Cheers
Honestly, for a DA, the optimal camber for a 2.5" drop is "whatever the lowering provided", which would be around -2.5* up front and close to -2* in the back.
-2*/-1.5* would be fine though. I wouldn't go any closer to 0 than that though. Lowered cars corner harder, and take any more camber away and you'll hurt that ability.

honestly, after reading this link http://heeltoeauto.com/httech/YaBB.pl?num=1162587420 , I think I'm gonna go ahead and skip the camber kit, cause your right, my car handles nice now with the camber the way it is.... if I continue to have problems after an alignment, then I'll get a camber kit.... does anyone know a good decent riding coilover system between $700? I figured the money I save from not getting a camber kit, I'll put towards a full coilover system... I heard the skunk2 coilovers have a pretty jarring ride?? I heard good things about form and function though??
.Manny. - sorry bout that dude, I see what you were getting at on your post.... good call.... made me wonder enough to look into it. Cheers
