I cant get the damn thing off. I tried with a 9000 rpm blue point impact gun. I then pulled the starter to get at the fly wheel so I could jam a screwdriver in there and then torque on the damn thing and that hasnt gotten me anywhere either. It is regular thread correct? its not reverse thread is it?

Any suggestions?

 

watch tis video and buy the crankshaft removal tool. It took about 15 seconds to remove pulley.

If that tool don't work either (because I have had a few really stubborn 1's) u can always use a 3/4" or 1" drive impact, guaranteed to work, lol.

Thanks guys I finally got the thing off. I called around and nobody carried the removal tool. So I ended up getting it off with a pry bar in the fly wheel and 300 lb buddy of mine. LOL he sat his butt on the ground and used his foot on a standard 1/2in 1 foot long breaker bar and cracked it loose. I tried but it didnt budge for me. Anyways thanks for the info and if you have a big friend with big legs that works pretty good too and its cheaper.

 

when putting the crankshaft pulley back on i just go hand tight right?

 

naw dude. that crank pulley bolt has to go back on hella tight. i think the torque spec is 130 ft. lbs.

 

just torch the nut for a long time, then come back with the impact and it should come off!

 

I bought mine from Amazon as well. They are normally cheaper for tools than eBay!

 

doesnt heat make metal expand? wouldnt that make it harder to get off? I did already get it off though.
