my friend is putting together a turbo kit in a few months and I wondering will a thicker gasket will bring the c/r down somewere around 11:5:1. it will be running of the wastegate, i think it's a 8psi spring

obviously a thicker headgasket will lower the compression, however the difference between 12:1 and 11.5:1 with boost is pretty negligable, I would try to get it down to 10:1 max for a pump gas engine, a bad tank of gas and that engines going boom at 11.5:1

he is better off replacing the pistons to something lower than 10:1 or it will have to be detuned to the point that it will probably not work well at all and run the risk of damaging something.
