HELP!!? Auto to Manual Swap 01 civic
Hey guys i need help, i did the swap but my car wont turn on...im using the auto Ecu and harness..I heard that if i hook up da shift selector box from the auto tranny to my manual tranny it should werk... Or is there anyway to like tap into the starter relay?? I've been trying to figure this out..
yeaa its not dat, i think like da car doesnt recognize its in park....i turn da key in da ignition da lights turn on da dash dats about it...and everything else is good i know i have to like tap a wire to get it working
manual trannies dont have a park
they also wont start up if the clutch isnt pused in. if you forgot to wire int he lcutch switch, no starty for youy

I don't know who told you you could use the Auto. ECU, but that's false information. The ECU operates on knowledge it receives from the transmission. Without a manual ECU, the car thinks that the transmission is malfunctioning.
no. it throws a code for the automatic stuff, but functions just fine.

All you have to do is remove the little black box from the Auto tranny and make sure its set to park and plug it back on the auto harness... and the car will start right up...
I did this swap and used my auto ECU and Harness and since you are using those two you do not have to push down the clutch pedal for the car to start...but you will not be able to pass 5000 RM and you will have an engine check light for the missing auto tranny but the car will be completely drivable.

after you remove it from your auto tranny just find a safe place to mount it back on your car.

yep thats all you have to do lol, just unscrew it from the auto tranny plug it back on the engine harness find a nice place to mount it so it won't fall off and the make sure its set on park and the car will start right up.
hopefully you still have your auto shifter. plug in your harness to teh shifter, use your hand to undo the lock m,echanism, and move the shifter to park, then unplug it. dash should indicate park now. drive away.
the "D" light should't stay on it just blinks forever.. the "P" stays on for good.
make sure it set to park.... when i did my swap I didn't put the little black box on and the car didn't start at all the lights turned on but no power to the engine..
after connecting that box putting it in park the car started right up..the ground wire that connects from the battery to the frame to the transmission make sure you have that connected because that also causes the car not to start...I remember doing that once to.
