Default 17x7.5 or 17x8 with +48 offset

Hey guys, i was gonna surprise my brother (he has an 05 rsx base on Tein s-tech springs) and buy some rota's but unfortunately the only thing available is +48 offset currently. A lil research says these offsets will be ok but just wont sit flush with the fender like a 35mm offset would. Has anyone ran either of these sizes? And what tires would be best? 225/45/17 looks like the consensus.

I figure the 17x8 with +48 offset would probably be fine because searching around says the type S stock offset on 17x7 is +45 offset. Correct me if im wrong on any of this.

My head is spinning from researching a car that isn't mine. Im just lookin for anyone with first hand experience with these sizes/offset

17X8 is the way to go, the +48 is a good idea. Stay away from spacers and Rotas.

I'm not buying spacers. I could care less if it's not flush, I just want to make sure it won't rub the strut or fender lining without spacers.

What's wrong with rotas besides the act they're not Honda/mugen/etc. Are drag any better?

that person could have been driving like a dumbass and run into a curb for all we know. How bout a story behind the pic? If u tell me a massive amount of torque or a 1 inch deep pothole did that then MAYBE I'll reconsider rota.

QFTMFT!! Enough said about Rota.

And yes OP, the wheels should fit with either of those widths. You will be pretty close to the rear trailing arm though. Maybe look for a lower offset on a different site or something if you're really worried about it.

I'm rockin some tourqes on my dc5 and yes it's realy close to the rear shock tube but it fits fine. I was thinking of spacer but iv got 215-40-17s so it's not that bad.

Nobody is preaching. You're such a drama queen man. I never said what to buy or what not to buy. I stated a fact. I never said the poster should or should not buy anything. I personally have owned a set of Rotas for my DD. I also had a set of CE28's on the side. You blow everything out of proportion. If that's not what you're trying to do, you should word what you're saying differently. For nothing else you're a drama queen. Not cool man. Hormones of for the ladies and I don't think you own a purse...mabe you do.

How do u figure that. Everytime there is a wheel thread you always say stay away from rota. That is preaching against rota! I have had three sets and have never had a problem with any of the so called problems with them. And how am i a drama queen for stating the truth. Anyone can say what they want about this company or that company but people will buy what they want or can afford regardless of what is said. That is truth not drama!! Not to mention rota still has too pass all standardized testing and regulations to be put in production. Yes i understand the difference between cast iron and forged and yes i know there is little to no r&d with rota but until i have a problem with their wheels i will not bash them because of those reasons!! I also know several people that track they're cars with rota and have nevwr ha problems with them breaking or anything!!

Is there any other reason that u feel the need to run people away from rota, a personal experience?

luckily im not the type to run out and believe what one person says amongst the crowd on an internet forum. I've never ran rota, but hell why not i would be more concerned about the condition of my tires over a "fake" wheel. If i can drive down the street and take an autox session without the spokes separating from the wheel, then whats the issue? (feel free to educate me)

I hit a speed bump pretty hard and my Rotas cracked straight up the middle of the middle (the inner part of the rim). I ran over a curb with my Volks and they were perfectly fine, I had a bubble on my tire. I was actually mad that my rims weren't affected. It made them worth the $2500. There's a difference. Like I said before, I've owned a set or two. I'd feel safer rolling my regular stock rims than deal with Rotas. Oddly enough, stock rims are more expensive than rotas (to push my point). To each is own but I don't know of any Rotas that are 17X8. I didn't even know that they came that big.

Define preaching, if you look up the definition you'll know that, that's not what I'm doing. If I have an opinion, it's my opinion. If you open your mouth about something more than once doesn't mean you're preaching, it just means you have to repeat yourself. Like I said, drama queening a thread in not cool.

It wasn't supposed to be square but basically it was a. It had somewhat rounded edges.

look on here for more wheels by rota, with more widths and offsets, they are a big distributor so they have access to more sizes , easier

http://machiii.net/Rota_wheels.html

rota's arent bad wheels, there cast just like most other aftermarket wheels, like people have said lol dont offroad with them dont hit curbs etc etc and youl be perfectly fine, there great daily driver wheels, there not the lightest or the strongest but you dont need that on a daily driver
