will an ls motor fit into gsr integra shell?
Heres the deal, ive got a 1999 integra ls that wrecked in the front but the motor and trans are still good, and this guy i know is selling a 2000 integra gsr shell for cheap. Will the whole swap drop in with no problems? Motor mounts? Tranny mounts? Wiring? Axles? Just everything, i want to know what im getting myself into before i buy the shell. Thanks
All Integra shells are the same, excluding the Integra Type-R, so I wouldn't see why it would not fit...unless the LS swap was an automatic, in which a MT tranny would be needed.
Everything should be the same except a few wires since the GSR has VTEC and LS does not have it.
so the motor mounts, tranny mounts, and axles are definitely the same.

thanks for the response, that helps alot. One more question, what wiring would i need to do? would i throw a code? Can i just leave it how it is? Thanks
That said, you shouldn't have to rewire anything to drop a non-vtec into a previously vtec equipped car. You won't end up connecting the vtec solenoid wire, and possibly a few others (knock sensor maybe?) that are not needed for the B18B.
yeah with a gsr cluster you'll throw a vtec cel light, just because it doesnt sense it.
i had the same issue.
ecu plugs shouldnt be an issue either, should all be obd2a i believe.
everything else is the same though.

to answer your question yes it will fit like they all said up there...but one problem i believe is that you can't register a 1999 motor in a 2000 body i believe.
FAQ differs:
00-01 are OBDIIb (chip in key). 96-99 are OBDIIa. 94-95 are OBDI.
Ohio emission regulations might be less strict then CA ones.
besides the VTEC CEL code, unnecessary VTEC and knock plugs, you should be good for the swap OP. Good luck.

yes it fits, swap over the ecu to run the b18b, if you don't you'll have a cel. as far as the chipped key idk how you'd go about that. guess just use the key for the shell? and you could maybe swap over your ls harness and sell the gsr's harness and ecu. that's if it wasn't pulled by previous owner. I'm only really sure about odb1. but i would look up ecu pin outs to be on the safe side.

what wiring harness would i have to changeout?
does the gsr shell have the engine harness in it? if yes, just swap everything over except the ls harness. use the ls ecu. the plug to the vtec will be unplugged. no CEL for it cuz the ls ecu is not reading vtec cuz its not vtec. plain and simple as that. if both are manual trans.
