How to Check if Backup battery is defected?
Well my uncle Came down from PA and installed an alarm in my cousins 05 RSX-S that consisted of Viper 5900-piezo sirens-backup battery-motion sensor. So when he finished we tested everything out and seemed good. So were bored the other day and decide to pull the battery to see if the alarm would still go off. and it did not. it just shut off with the pull of the battery. Which makes sense because when i asked him about how its gunna work..it didnt really seem like he knew what he was talking about..So i give him a call and i ask if he knew what he was doing and he says hes 100% sure he did it right..and that the backup battery is defective... Evewrything purchased is DEI
Any ideas on what could be wrong?

True thats. Or it was no good unit from ebay. Out of every 5 cases of back up batteries that I purchase from dei(20 in a case). There might be one bad if any. I have not had this problem in over 2 months. The problems lies if the unit is old. They do have a shelf life. Batteries do need to be charged. And if you bought one that happen to be on a shelf for over a year then this would be a problem. If you bought one that happen to be in a blue box. Then 9 out of 10 its bad. Try to find one thats in a clear box. And most all that you find on the ebay are bad.

if i remember right i put 2 on the wire and 2 using a relay when i found out what was wrong.. but this may or may not be the case with you
Check the voltage on the backup battery. Test the module by seeing if you get a negative on the blue wire when your car battery is disconnected.
If he installed it "right", he would have tested it during and after the install. Why would you wait until days or weeks later to pull the battery?
