Well just got myself a set of no name coilovers for free from a family member, Planning on putting it on my 94 DC4, anyways long story short. The previous owner never replaced his rear shocks or suspensions for that matter. Haven't had much time to work on it but I got both the front on easily today. The main problem is the rear shocks which has a 14" size nut which is welded to the shock itself. Now the obvious question would be, how would I remove that? Of course with out power tools I can't do much, but besides using a impact gun, would there be another way to remove it? Like with a hammer(just throwing that out there, which I doubt would work). The only thing I can think of right now is just to leave it as it is and just replace the nut w/ another one.
Another problem I'm worried about in the near future is the axles, since the vehicle will be dropped to about a 1 finger gap between fender and tire. Riding to this particular height would be my concern in relation to the axles. Will it wear out quicker? break down on me, or just replace it as soon as i have the coilovers on?
Thanks in advance for helping

Don't have a camera any more but i'll try to find the pic or at least a diagram. Oh about the axles I highly doubt they've been changed as well. I've only owned this car for for a couple of months. Hardly drive it.

Here is a visual diagram of it found on acuraautomotiveparts.org
look at # 19, and at the end of the shock there's a 14" nut welded there.
***Hmm now that I think about I'm not quite sure if it was a 14" or a 17" size, either way I still need to remove it***

If you want to use the same bolt that came out[19], the nuts on top [20] Will fit it.

Yes I'm replacing the shocks, but I'm uncertain that #20 will fit #19 bolt. I'll have to double check that tomorrow. It's funny I was just working on it a couple of hours ago and now I forgot the size of it. I'm hoping you guys would know(I'm certain you guys know this), its basically the stock rear shock with that nut. What I would like to do is remove it and use it to connect to #19 again on the new coilovers.
I just installed blox competition coilovers acouple months back and i ran into the same problem. Since they didnt come with the nut welded to the shock, I just went to kragen, bought some grade 8 nuts and bolts and used that. Havent had ANY problems with them at all. The nuts i used are locking nuts just so they dont back out.
