Looking for a new car alarm system 200-300 dollars
For my 1994 civic hatchback. It got recently jacked by someone (stereo stolen). I honestly don't know how they broke into my car, but i never liked the alarm system i have in it right now.
Do you guys have any suggestions? I need a 2 way alarm that isn't too expensive that covers the doors, hood, and trunk.
And if anyone has any idea as to how they broke into my car, that would be great. My passenger door was open so they may have slim jimmed it? Even if they did open the door, I have no idea how they disabled the alarm for the car.

They most likely poped your hood and unpluged your battery, Then poped the window out and stuck there hands in and open the door. Read the sticky above and see what needed for a good alarm install. Make sure your alarm has atleast a dei 520t back up battery, and a mini siren in the car. Also make sure that you place the main siren out of site.
200-300 installed isn't going to go very far. Installing an alarm isn't that hard, time consuming, but not very hard if your organized. Buy the stuff and do it yourself that way you know it's done the right way. WRX and FCM are huge resources.

The alarm I have right now is:
Autopage rf-425lcd 2-way lcd pager ($99 shipped)

Can be bought at:
www.sonicelectronix.com
Like everyone said installing an alarm is not that difficult. I got the confidence to install my own alarm thanks to the website (http://causeforalarm.thecarthing.com...on7/index.html) mentioned earlier.
I've added a motion sensor, dei battery backup, mini piezo siren (going to add 1-2 more), and installed a hood pin switch. Alarm brain is well hidden. Installed everything myself for the first time. All under $200.
Check out www.the12volt.com for wiring diagrams. Use posi-taps/posi-connectors (http://www.posi-lock.com/posiplug.html) if you don't want to solder/use crimp connectors. Try installing it yourself before going to a shop for a basic alarm install.
