my opinion would be a B16 1st and 2nd, GSR 3rd and 4th, LS 5th and type R FD, but that's just me

This topic is like beating a dead horse.

It really depends on your power level, if its 350whp and under I will say B16/ITR all the way.

B16 will accelerate the fastest with traction, followed by the GSR and then the LS.

However since the B16 has the shortest gearing of the trio, pending your power level you might have to hit 5th going down the track with a stock redline.

**** a B16 tranny for boost, the first 2 gears are to shot. IMHO Id go with a GSR tranny and if you can thow a LS 5th in it and an LSD. My friends turbo ls/v was goin through the traps in 5th gear with a Type R tranny

your friends tires are too short and/or his redline is too low..... 8800rpm got me 137 with 24.5's, will be using the B16 gearing for 150+

It could be his redline is being lower than yours, I believe it was 8200. It was a stock ls/v with CTR cams so he wasnt really wrappin the hell out of it.

definetly need lsd. got a ls w/out lsd right now and my tires spins like crazy. thats why i'm looking for one right now. also, if you do alot of highway driving then a ls or gsr lsd would be better.
