Default what transmission will work with a civic type r (b16b) engine? and where to buy?

most palces i check usually sells the engine alone, or the complete swap where would be a good online place to buy a transmission for a ctr?

im curious cause this dude is selling his car, ctr engine, and has no transmission, http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/1374328888.html not planing to buy but just wondering how much would it end up costing

I would check with a company like New York Block that import engines from Japan. I've purchased transmissions and engines from them.

Any hydro B-series box will work from EG,EK and DC chassis also some of the cars you guys in the US wont have heard of like the 94-99 Domani with a B18B based on EG chassis but different body work and the Orthia which is a EK Wagon.
I work at a Honda specialist in NZ so if you dont mind paying freight I can sell you one I'm sure were cheaper than US prices aswell just the freight hurts it.

alot of sites dont sell a tranny by itself...well the ones i seen. i see more long blocks for sale versus trannys. honestly if the guy is selling the car without a tranny i wouldnt get it UNLESS i really knew the person. you cant test drive the car or see if the motor knocks or anything else. to much risk..just my .2

Try my work as mentioned I'm in NZ and 80% of our Honda's are JDM imports check out out website www.stronghonda.co.nz or email me direct on parts@stronghonda.co.nz we have transmissions on there own no problem at all. Sorry if I've broken any rules by mentioning my work but I'm a Honda enthusiest aswell have a H22A swapped Odyssey and a caged B18C Ek hatch for weekend track work so just trying to help out.

the b16b transmission is the same as the usdm itr transmission. which is the same as us 99-00 civic si transmission with an LSD.

also the del sol vtec.

you could even go to an acura dealer and buy a new b16b (ITR) trans.
