Default High mileage ITRs...

So who here has an ITR with relatively high mileage, 100+ k miles, and still heads to the track with it? I finally made it out to the local track yesterday coming out from a 5 year lay over and everything went smoothly. The ITR was perfect and made it through the day without any issues. God i love this car!!! However, my father-in-law's cooper S wasn't so lucky. The rod found a way through the block on the drive home leaving us stranded on the side of the highway. However, this wasn't unexpected from the lack of maintenance he performs on the car. This really got me thinking about my own car. My ITR is a 97 and the engine was a JDM transplant (also a 97) that was replaced before i purchased it. I cannot tell of the exact mileage but it will burn a quart between oil changes, pretty acceptable for our engines. Who here actually tracks an older, higher mileage ITR? Any similar horror stories?

It's a honda, not a BMW.

100k isn't anything at all.

I saw someone on here saying they hit 300k awhile back. I'm not sure if they race it though. There are plenty out there though with near 200k that do race.

Tracked mine with 108K. No problems at all. Just drank a lot of black stuff.

Wow, i realized the ITR motor uses oil, just didn't realize was that much. I guess my motor is ok after all. However, i noticed a weird rattle coming from the head when cold. Going to get that checked out. It's nice to hear that many ITRs are being used at the track even with high mileage.

May be time for a valve adjustment.

114,471 on my 98. not the original motor exactly (original one with P/O was a 556whp turbo motor) but i can say the chassis of the car is in excellent condition, still handles seemingly like it's fresh out of the showroom. god i love beautifully engineered cars i can't wait to get it some track time with it's new naturally aspirated heart (the way it should be)

These cars were meant to be tracked. They were built to perform and its a Honda. Enough said.
