Default NOOB engine oil question

Okay so i bought a motor from a shop and the engine builder told me specifically to only use conventional and never to use synthetic. The motor is a LS-VTEC with itr pistons and a stock itr head. Any reasoning behind this? I forgot to ask him.

maybe for the first couple thousand miles to ensure its fully broken in....yes you want to use conventional oil.

after that you can use whatever type of oil you like

Conventional oil for the first 1000 miles or so to ensure the rings break in. After that you should use synthetic. If he says you can never use synthetic in it I would like to hear his reasoning.

There is never a situation where conventional oil is superior to synthetic except for break-in.

help?

use whatever oil you want....a good synthetic oil is perfectly fine. even regular oil is fine as long as you change it at the proper intervals.
