Default Code 9 For Si Distributor

K i have the d15b2 MPFI swap on my car and its throwing the code 9. Ive check the resistance between the G & F terminal and is suppose to be between 350-700 Ohms and its saying around 296. Does that mean i have to get a new distributor? Because it says in the repair manual that if it does not show between 350-700 that i should replace the distributor assembly

K well i rechecked the resistance and its showing around 410-420 ohms. So now i go about following up procedure in the manual. What is the PGM-FI Test Harness? Its saying to connect it to the PGM-FI test harness NOT the ECU. Does that mean i shouldnt check the resistance between C1 & C2 Right at the ECU?

Did you check the resistance at the dizzy and the ECU? If you checked the distributor, check the ECU, if it's lower than the specs, you know you have a break in the wire.

Yeah i already checked it at the dizzy. is was 410-420 Ohms. I tried checking it at the ECU where you can undo some electrical tape and test C1 & C2 but its not reading the wires. Like the multimeter doesnt pick up anything it just stays the same as if i wasnt toughing any wires.

Use like some safety pins to push them into the holes for c1 and c2 since your multimeter test leads are probably too big. That's what I had to do with mine.

This will allow you to "extend" your leads to test it, they won't interfere with any of the readings either.

K i tried the pins and nothing changed. It still doesnt read on the multimeter. At the setting 200 Ohms nothing reads. 2K it wont read. But on all the other settings(200k, 20k, 20M, 200M) itll read something. How do i tell how many Ohms there are with the other settings?

It won't read anything of the ohms are set to below what you are looking for. I use 20k ohms is how I got my readings.

Do you have a different ECU you can try? If you get nothing, that is where your issue might be. You can crack open the ECU and try and check it using the pins that go to the board, I did that at one point also. Just reference where the pins are on the plugs and read it from there with the harness plugged in.

K i tried the 20K and it reads around 8.2-8.4. Does that mean its around 820 Ohms?

Do you have 2k ohms by chance as a setting? I miss typed mine as being 20k. I used the 2k ohms setting.

Yeah i do. At the 8p connector itll read around 390Ohms between the F & G pins. But at ECU it wont read anything on the 2K setting. But when i go to the 20K setting or another setting above it it reads like 8.25. Does that mean 8,200 ohms?
