Default Best Swap

I had just purchase myself a 2000 Civic SI. Compare to most 4 Cyl it's fast, but not fast enough. I want to know if its worth swapping out that motor and getting a different one put in like a GSR. I thought about a Turbo and Supercharger, but then I heard I will lose my A/C. That would probably be the last thing I do. Please help me out. Thanks

The Si is heavy as *****, and at high altitude up in Colorado a GSR motor won't do a damn bit of good. Bust out the heap of cash and go turbo, you won't lose the A/C.

I dont know about the Colorado thing, but turbo is the way to go. I suggest you do a LOT of research first though.

Best thing for you to do is.

1.buy wing
2. buy type-r sticker
3.Say things like "well..I havent run it at the track..but it feels like a 14 sec car"

Thats about all I can tell you.
ROTFLMAO

how about:

3. Say things like 'Well I haven't run it yet, but I take LS1 camaros on the highway, so it must be a high 11 second car'

Anyway, yeah...go turbo. You won't lose your a/c.

maybe it's just me, but the thought of paying $3000+ to replace your 160hp motor with a 170hp seems kind of odd.... sure a little more torque, and bigger engine, but then why'd you buy the damn si? but i guess hey, if you got the money.

Its really not that bad of an idea. You could probably sell your swap for a pretty penny seeing as how its soo new.

But, you'd still be faster with a turbo or jrsc.

how's this for an idea..sell your 00 Si for around 14K. now take 2K and buy yourself a 92-95 EG hatch. Next take 3K more and buy yourself a GSR swap. put the motor in the hatch and you'll have a car that will spank the 00 si.
