Default 94 HB. DX. oil light

Hi,

Been awhile. posted before but couldnt get any help, ive searched and search, cant find anything really concrete. i have a 94 civic HB DX. engine was swaped for the same, D15. after a year, had to swap out the transmission. Changed to an LX/CX transmission. guess its a B7. After changing the oil, and filter. and double checking connections and what not. the oil light flickers on and off. Reving it will cause it to go off for a bit but comes back on. ive heard if this happens to NOT drive the car or it may be not enough oil getting to the cylinders. ive parked it at home and havent gotten around to really figuring it out. ive swaped out the oil sending unit thing with my old one. light does the same.

this common problem, could it be oil pump, pick up tube? is there anything i should or need to check before i really have to do an oil pump change? please help. would like to start driving this around again.
Thanks to all for the help. reply here or PM me please. thanks

i would drop ur pan take off ur oil pick up and clean it out with carb or brake cleaner. shine a light through it and check for clearness.. if its good reinstall and try again, if problem persists then i would think about your pump. might be bad or they ran that motor low on oil and chewed up the oil clearences in the pump... thats what i can come up with right now based on what you have described..

also change the oil filter with an oem one. they are like 10 bucks.. i only use them. pease of mind, and make sure the oil u use is 5w-30 or 10w-30.. depending on cliamte.

let me know and i will help you with further diagnosis

Thanks. hopefully in the next couple of weeks. sometime at the end of september, i will get started and take off oil pan and inspect the pick-up tube. i doubt the engine was used that bad, i baught it from this place that sells engines in VA. the thing is, when the transmission went out. i had let it sit for awhile. out it on jack stands, beinging the process of disconnecting transmission from engine/ ect... i would say, about 3 months including it sitting, taking stuff out to put in the replaced trans. that is when it started. before that, driving for awhole year including this long distance trip. no problems
i will let you know. may be a while before i get back to you
