Seems a cx bottom would be a bad combination with a zc head. a d16a6 or regular zc longblock would yield more power. You would make more power with multi-point, and anything more than a replacement clutch seems to be overkill.

well since your still dpfi you should be running a pm5 which is only set to make about 82 or 85 hp. that is why you are feeling the car to be slow. convert to mpfi and run a pm6 ecu and you will immediately see some more power.

ok, im new to the whole sohc world but i was planning on converting to mpfi sometime soon when i get everything together. how much more power do you think ill make? just a rough estimate. i want to stay with the sohc and leanr some new things. in the future i wanna do a single-v. would that be better to go n/a or turbo with?

^ b series can get insane gas mileage too. ive gotten 40mpg highway with my b18b1, i average 34 per fillup and this on an integra chassis which is considerably heavier.

every car ive owned has been b-series. thats all i know, and i love it. but with this car i want to stay single and learn about singles. i want it mainly for the reliablility and gas mileage but i cant stand driving my car with how slow it is now lol

more power in d series = less mileage
b series = more power and same mileage

if not then, FI is the fastest way for more power.

Consider a SOHC vtec swap (Z6 or Y8) and convert to OBD1 for tuning.
You could go with the A6 and OBD0, but finding a place to tune it might be difficult.

None of these engines are going to make you go FAST, but they do alright... nothing impressive, but not bad for daily for getting your mileage.

Add a basic turbo kit like a Greddy and shoot for about 210hp. With a good tune you can keep your mileage OR kill your mileage... all depends on how much you abuse it.
