CEL Help!
I really need help on this one. The day started off real good, just as a normal day. Started up my car, fired up real nice and took off from San Diego to San Jacinto. Previously when the car is driven for awhile all it needs is to cool down for about an hour and it'll start right up. If it's turned off and tried to start it again about less than 30 minutes it wouldn't start. Don't know why. Sh*t's weird. Anyone know those symptoms? Well Got to my cousins house, shut off my engine and an hour later tried to start it back up and it doesn't crank. So we pop start it and voula! It starts. Took off to San Bernardino to get my smog, shut the car off at the station and and had to pop start it again. Once on the Dyno, the dude stalls on my car, and they jump start it from the starter. Works perfectly fine, got done in about 5 minutes, and head back to San Jacinto. Parked it in the garage let my car cool down for about 2 hours tried to start it up it wouldn't start. No CEL at first. So I tried everything I can. I switched my starter with my cousins, didn't work. I checked all the fused, all were good. Checked all connections, all were good. Battery terminals were tight, we tried and tried pop starting it about 8 times, cranks on for about 3 seconds and sputters out and dies even with gas pedal to the medal. Then I got a voltage meter checked my fuses, all fuses that weren't getting direct power from batter had no voltage at all. then after all that long 6 hours of hard work, a CEL comes on reading a Code 15. Ignition Output Signal. I wasted my whole Saturday afternoon from 4pm to 1am troubleshooting that damn vehicle. Does anyone know what can be the problem for it to throw that code? Any help would be awesome. I was so damn tired last night My cousin just said f*ck it take my car home and call it a night. Worst day of my life. Oh yeah, the car is a 1991 Civic Sedan has a b18c block with a b16a head. Chipped p28 ecu. If that helps.
I tried swapping the battery. I gotta check that power to starter wire. Thanks. And my batteryis relocated to the trunk as well... But it's been relocated for a few monthsnow, almost a year. But I'll check the wire. Thanks, if any other suggests please give me some tips. Thanks guys.
If it's throwing code 15, then you have a bad ignitor, you need to buy a new dizzy or borrow one from someone to test it out. You can also swap ignitors from any B and possibly D series distributors.
