Default good deal or just burying myself in a hole

selling me a a vtec head d series with a white vtec valve cover and throwing in a solenoid for a 100 bucks. any specific questions i should ask him

idk zc's came with vtec.. ask how the valvetrain is? Any bent valves?

does it come with a cam? if it does, sounds like a good deal. if its obd-1, you'll have to do the conversion on your car. i sold my v-tec head for something like 180.00

yea just take a look at it and see if anything blatanly obvious would indicate that he's not telling you the truth. ask if it made any unusual noises or if there's any reason to believe the valve seals may be bad. if it looks good and he seems legit then jump on it.

edit: like above said ^. i assumed it was a complete head ready to go.. is it?

the y8, z6, and vtec zc head are all going to give you about the same hp gain. no one of these makes any significant power more than the other.

ok cool now any ideas on the smogging if i strap this to the d16 and get everything else would it be easier to just hang on to the 16 head and reverse the process with smog?
