allright. as some of you know, i used to have a decent sleeper of an eg. right now, i just thought of another great sleeper. a crvtec 4 door 88-91 civic. what you think? would i just be better doing a b16 or what? can i use the same mount kit as the 4th gen hatchie? any info on such a swap will be helpful..thanx

im thinkin just a straight ls or b20 swap...dunno tho. how hard would it be to put the 88-91 si engine in? i was thinkin that with a sohc vtec tranny. hmm...gimme some more input guys.

sad thing is...most sedans fall victims to rice.
so as long as you build the sedan in a classy and tastefull manner, i think a crvtec in one would be BADASS.
if you've got the resources...go for it!!!

 

don't bother unless you have some serious cash to pay someone to do it for you...because you should be allowed under the hood. your thinking of a crvtec OR non vtec d16 for a sleeper?? ls or b20 ?!? just throw a apr wing and some led hood squirters on it..

 

im saying i'll make it a sleeper if i do a b20vtec...this **** is still in the planning stages buddy. i dont know if i want a quick daily driver or a ****** street killer. dont start **** with ****** wings and stuff man. i hate that ****. and as far as classy and tasteful go, the only exterior mod would be a carbon fiber zc hood or sir hood and rota slipstreams...maybe some suspension work. not sure what i wanna do. like i said, planning stages.

well, as i said...its just an idea right now. i dont know if i want this to be daily driven or not or anything right now. im also toying with other ideas. sr20det swaps in 240s, and playing with old corolla gts's is sounding pretty enticing. im just sick of seeing people get bitched out when they come up with an original idea. maybe if skunkwhat would read an actual ******* post before he opens his bitch mouth, then we might get something intelligent out.

 

that's the problem it's not orginal.... 4 doors have been done many many times before...i can think of a couple 11 and 12 second 4 doors off the top of my head...and as far as sr20's and s13 and i can't belive you metioned the gts...who's not doing one of these...it's a trend..it's been around a couple years (i have friends who have had s13/s14 swaps on the street for almost 2 years) but is just now getting played because of stupid street and the other "jdm/performance" mags...and the gts...are you going to start a drifting club? i've driven a modded gts and let me tell you something...it sucks...it's a cult car not a civic you can hop up and be happy w/ it. orginal is an old 510 w/ a s13 swap...should be up and running very soon...it's in but the wiring is a little bit of a problem. it's kind of hard to be og in the honda camp and your gonna get a lot of slack for thinking it is... i would do the ef 4 door w/ a mild gsr swap that would be a sleeper but not at all orginal..

 

ok back on topic...

my friend has basically the same motor in a crx and he just ran a 13.4 untuned. i think that setup would be badass in a 4 door. i like the torque of the b20 and the high end of the vtec.


you would need to do a good amount of work to a b16 to make it a sleeper in a 4 door (assuming you keep the interior in and whatnot). i personally wouldn't go this route.


you would need to get the hasport or place racing mounts to swap a b series into a 4th gen.

breaka_1_9...thanks for all the help. thats what i was looking for in the original post, but all these people seem to want to try and be bitches. as for being original, i'm talking about where im from, not the whole usa, and not anywhere else. around here an old four door would be a sleeper, and so would a silvia conversion. i was just talking about motor swap, not the whole body ****.

 

I like the idea myself. You have the kind of $$ loot $$ that is going to take to make a 4 door CRVtec??? Thats more then I have.

What about a 4G Hatch with a B18 turbo???? That would be sleeper style....

 

anything that doesn't look fast but might be considerably faster than stock is a sleeper. a four door with anything other than a d16a6 i would consider a sleeper as long as it doesn't have a wing from a top fuel dragster on the back

a four door would be a good sleeper. there is a guy around here w/ a 89 240sx and a sr20det. it looks like crap, sounds like crap, but is fast as ****. you would never know untill he smoked your ***

speaking of originality how about a 1979 civic (thats right 79) with a D16A6 with a Z6 head in it?
well it is in my garage waiting for the mounts to be welded in...
and with the b16 in a 4th gen my dad had one 5 years ago

we just put a 2nd gen b16a (SIR-II) motor in his 88 civic 4 dr.. WOW, it pulls pretty hard in vtec!.
I wired it up for OBD 1, and put a JUN chipped p28, JDM s1 and dual pressure plate clutchmasters 6 puck, very nice and pretty fast for a 4 dr. plus it looks bones stock, talk about sleeper

If you got money to spend, do the crvtec setup and try and find a YS1 LSD tranny, your gonna f*ck some people up with that setup
