Default Best car cover for us?

I bought one off eBay for like 30 bucks, but its sooo light it just blows in the wind badly.

Looking for a better one that's pretty thick and has good ties for it or good elastic too go under bumpers and hold it good.

Water protective is a must

Any suggestions?

Why do you need a car cover? Is it not driven often?

It looks in bad shape right now with no fenders or bumper at my work so i just leave it covered up.

And i dont have window moldings on it at the moment so it would get water in it with no cover.

Any other suggestions?

Instructions for the Use and Care of
Your Acura Car Cover
made of EVOLUTION Fabric

NOTICE: Do not dry this car cover in automatic dryers.

Your new cover will help minimize deterioration of the paint and upholstery of your vehicle by shielding it from the ultra-violet rays of the sun, dirt, dust, tree leaves, sap, bird droppings, industrial pollutants, and salt particles in the air. The cover, although not waterproof, can keep your car dry in light precipitation, but not in a rainstorm. It has been treated with a durable water repellent and is mildew resistant. The cover is made from a "breathable" fabric and will not trap moisture, which can cause damage to the paint.

INSTALLATION OF THE COVER

When installing your cover, make sure the mirror pockets on the sides of the cover are pulled over the mirrors before pulling the ends of the cover over the bumpers (see Figure A). The elastic ends of your cover will keep it secure under normal conditions. On windy days, or for prolonged storage, it is advisable to use a lock and cable fastened to the grommets at the sides of the cover. The lock and cable are the included in this kit.

(PAGE 2)

REMOVAL

To remove the cover, first release both ends from under the bumpers. Fold the cover from one side of the car toward the middle. Remove the mirror pockets from the side mirrors carefully; do not pull or tug on them as this may tear the cover, or break the mirrors. Make the fold about two feet wide (see Figure B). Make the same fold from the other side of the car to meet the first folded section. Then fold the cover from the front to the back of the car in two foot folds (see Figure C). Place the folded cover in the storage and store it in the trunk/luggage compartment. Using this procedure will make the installation and removal of the cover prompt and efficient.

(PAGE 3)

USING THE CAR COVER CABLE AND LOCK

Install the cable and lock as shown in the illustration. The locking system will be ineffective if the cable it incorrectly installed.

The cable must be threaded through the loop on the one end and locked to itself at the other end as shown (see Figure D). The steel cable passes under the car and through the scratchproof grommets at the bottom of the sides of the cover. The cable is secured with the lock. Te cover may be used with or without the lock and cable.

CLEANING AND WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

NOTICE: Do not dry this cover in automatic dryers.

the cover can be washed while it is on the car with a small amount of Liquid Fantastik Cleaner and a soft brush or sponge. Use water to completely rinse off the cleaner. Leave the cover on the car, or draped over a clothes line or wall, and allow it to air dry.

The cover can also be washed in a large automatic washer found in most commercial laundromats. A home-sized washer is too small. DO NOT use a washer with an agitator as this can rip or tear the fabric. Use two (2) cups of Liquid Fantastik Cleaner. DO NOT use soap or detergent. The cover can be washed in warm water. Water temperature must not exceed 185*F (85*C)

Run it through two rinse cycles. It is very important that the cleaner is thoroughly removed to preserve the cover's water repellency.

Do not put the cover in an automatic dryer - severe damage to the cover will occur. The cover can only be air-dried draped over a clothes line, wall or on the car.

I found some decent ones from empire. This cover was a replacement cover for a custom cover that cost three times as much and started leaking water and collecting dust under the cover in less than a year. My Empire cover is 4 months old, has survived numerous strong thunderstorms and seering Texas sun, and so far is exceeding my expectations. I have 3 cars under cover, soon the other two will be covered by Empire.
