Disconnect all thats needed to drop the tank, drop the tank, put a good amount of chain (make sure chain is clean) in the tank followed by solvent (dont fill it full), shake the hell out of it in a back and fourth movement, drain tank (crud) and take chain out. Depending on how dirty your tank is on the inside you may need to repeat the process several times, or if its in real critical condition... i would recommend you just to buy a new one.

the best way to clean out a gas tank, is buy yourself a new one. you'll never get everything out.

wash it out, and drain it, use some diesel or kerosene. its got a drain on the bottom. easiest to do off the car though.

first off, never cut a gas tank up and weld it back....bad advice.....good advice....just go to any car parts store and buy some cleaner that is called solves-it......use that in a spray bottle and spray the entire tank with it, and it will clean it perfectly.......no need to buy a new one......if you don't get everything out, that is ok....that is what the fuel filter is for......
