Default CARB legal Headers

Is DC the only company that still produces a CARB legal header for a 01 B18C1?

greddy and edelbrock make the two best. the edelbrock is basically bombproof. very high end ceramic used and a slightly better design. it's the best of the carb headers but also one of the more expensive. i've seen them as low as $350 if you shop

Try and find a comptech header if you can. I found a used one and I love it. one of the best mods i've done to my car. Bad part is that they're are pretty hard to find because they don't make them anymore. carb number is welded onto the header.

I've had a DC and a Comptech header...both were CARB legal.... DC wasn't crap...if they were, people wouldn't keep buying it.

i guess you missed the last like 5 posts. DC Sports is not a good brand and consistently makes less power than other carb legal brands such as Comptech, Edelbrock and Greddy. Their ceramic coating has a tendency to rust easily.

guess you missed the part where other people like them and other people sackride more expensive brands just because they paid more.

^^^^ LOL

That was a good point DC ceramic coating does tends to rust. I've seen countless post/FS threads that attest to this.
That's why I'm looking for a Stainless header which narrows it down to Comptech/Greddy/Edelbrock.

you on the other had, do not. why are you "sack riding" on DC then? less power and worse quality, but i guess you can afford that so

because they are good headers that make good power, cant help it if people dont know how to tune their cars right, a honda forum is a bad place to get advice on how to make power.

yeah by listening to people like you vouch for their "quality" you clearly have no idea what it takes to make power considering you are using a carb legal header to begin with. A REAL header company such as TODA or SMSP or Hytech doesnt give 2 ***** about carb legality and neither do people who want to make real power.

clearly you didnt read the first post, if the guy wanted a header that wasnt carb legal, he would have asked for one, pay attention next time

lol cant take you or your post seriously when you say dc makes good power....my jdm itr header makes more power then dc and thats oem.

How is a honda forum a bad place to get advice on power? go check out the turbo or all motor forum and tell me nobody on this forum knows how to make power.

Let me guess you do things half asked and thats why you always have problems.

lol i never have problems when it comes to performance mods, because i dont place emphasis on price, i place it on results. The differences between a 700 dollar header vs a 280 ceramic coated DC header are minimal, because most headers on these cars wind up causing a bigger loss of low end torque and minimal performance gains in the upper RPM band, unless you have other mods done to your engine already. Everyone knows this. You dont spend close to 700 on headers unless your trying to cram every last ounce of horsepower you can out of a car. I dont give my suggestions based on opinions i give them based on dyno results. Do a little more research on performance results rather then research on what the most commonly used product is on a forum.

there are a few good threads in the all motor forum on headers and dynos. the skunk2 megapower is the best one i remember seeing in the $700 range. carb legal is a different story because of the restraints. you can buy an edelbrock which i think is the best of the carbs that are easily available. if you change your mind. cut the collector and weld in a 2.5" flex pipe and you'll have a unit that does as good or slightly better than a jdm itr. the primaries are good, it's just nothing with the factory collector is going to support wild cams and high compression...than again wild cams and compression won't pass emissions anyway

if you place it on results and not price why would you buy a dc.... a dc header is good for a person that wants a cheap header, but your not going to get a huge power increase, they love to rust and why buy a dc header when you can find a jdm itr header that will give you a better power increase (b/c the dc header is based off of that) for less money (if you know where to look). If you want power and dont care about carb you get a toda or if you can wait or get a used one, you get hytech or smsp. And dont even put those headers in the same category in terms of power as a dc header.

i care about the real powers :'[ i run DC and yes i paid next to nothing for them they still increase hp for a bargain. I can wait 50,000 miles for them to rust to ****
