Default 1993 Honda Civic EX reverse light problem

Reverse lights won't come on. I have checked the fuse boxes and bulbes all is ok.

Any ideas?

Also dashboard instrument lights and floor shifter lights not working again checked fuses all ok.

Any thoughts ideas? I tried to pry the dash cover off removing the two screws, I guess there's some others somewhere.? I don't want to break it.

If anyone can direct me to a wiring diagram or have some thoughts on the light issues I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Pete

OP: Make your title problem specific using the advanced editing function.

Do you have an automatic or manual transmission?

Wow! Thanks Ron for the response. I was taking that area of the shifter apart last night got to late and was just hoping for some sort of plug disconnection.

RonJ@HT

In the Auto Trans continuity check if there is none it suggests adjusting the position of shift position console switch (see section 14)

Any idea what section 14 is or how to do this adjustment?

Also do you know if there's a connector of any sort on the trans that I could check first?

Thanks again I really appreciate it. The car is my sons college car and I'm not that familar with it.

Realize this is a Necro-thread but I'm having the same problem with my 94 DX Sedan with Auto Trans. Anyone have a response to pschum's necro post above mine asking about adjusting the position of shift position console switch in the mysterious section 14?

Thanks, Ron - is there any mention of how to adjust the switch referenced?

There's no written procedure that I can find. I presume that you loosen the nut(s) and then position the switch where the back-up lights turn on with the gear lever in reverse. Please post pictures if you decide to try the switch adjustment as other members may benefit from your information.

Default Civic EX reverse, dashboard, and running tail light problem

I am having a similar problem. reverse, dashboard, and running tail lights won't come on. I have checked the fuse boxes and bulbes both are good. I have a manual transmission.
