Should I get my cams reground by web cams?
I am currently building my h23 engine for high boost and was wondering if I should send out my cams to web for a regrind. They said it would be $300 and they could add up to 10 degrees of duration but no lift. Do you think it's worth it or should I stick with stock cams? Thanks
Nope. If they can only add duration and no lift then its not worth it.
Turbo cams should be high lift, short duration.
Turbo cams should be high lift, short duration.
I respectively disagree. We run Web regrounds to our own specs with great success. BTW our grind looks like the exact opposite to the Crower turbo grind. I agree that lift is king and you can grind more lift into a regrind than originally ground into the cam. I know all the theories on less overlap and less duration, advancing the exhaust, retarding the intake. It just that I've never been able to prove any of them. If anyone has any conflicting results, please post
I don't know why anybody says anything but I have custom cams ground all the time and the total lift is increased by making the base circle smaller. Been done that way for 50 years.
