Very odd car trouble. Help please
Okay the last time this happened i made this thread:
https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-integra-6/removed-cluster-car-wont-start-after-help-2590592/
The problem is that I can't start my car. I turn the key and hear a click from the dash. All the dash lights come on like usual but it doesnt crank, just clicks. I noticed that this happens after being stuck in traffic for a long time, which was what happened last time when I made the thread above. Its pretty much the exact same situation as before.
Anyone got a clue whats wrong with my car? Could it be the battery going dead? The car would start right up after letting it sit for a looong time and everything seems fine.
Car: 99 Integra, jdmb20b, gsr tranny.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. Not trying to thread jack. But I have 11.98v at the battery all of my electrical works, ie. windows, stereo, ect. When I try to start the car the fuel pump primes and I hear clicking noise from the main relay, but when I turn it over I hear "click click" and nothing. For the longest time I thought it was my battery, because I never tried to use any electrical devices when the problem arose. But now I believe it's my main relay or something. Anyone know the symptoms of a bad main relay? Meanwhile I'll be looking for just that. Thanks

check the alternator as well because usually when you try to crank you can hear your gas line go sounding like a HUMMING sound. This is what happened to me and you check your horn and other electrical things and if it is working fine it is your alternator that should be checked. Check it out and see if it is fine because it can be other things as well. If it turns off while your car is idle it can be your distributor as well. Get back at this if you have any other problems.
thanks for all the replies. i orginally thought it was the starter, this happened a while ago too. so i already replaced that. so dont think its the starter.
when i turn the key i hear a click and humming noise like a motor or something.
EDIT: humming motor noise might be the antenna motor.

Still check the starter. The solenoid switch on the starter could be defective or bad connection. If you have a test light use it to see if you get voltage moving across the two main electrical connections. The main clue, it won't start when hot but will after it cools down. Classic starter fault. Good luck.
Unfortunately, i am have the same problem as well.
Just slightly different. i was going to make a post.. BUT, since this one is already up, well might as well put it here.
My 94 GSR has stopped starting.
A few days before it died it kept "Struggling to start".
I'd say it went on for a few days.
Now its stuck in a parking lot and i cant get it to fire up.
1. All the lights come on in the interior. I.E..Radio plays and what not,
Headlights don't dim..
SO.. i.m not assuming its the battery...But i.m no expert.
2. It turns over.
3. Now the battery is dead from trying to start it...
Any ideas or opinions? I Have searched the forums and the only thing similar is something about an accord... but i don't have an accord..
Any help from u guys would be appreciated if possible..

Im having the same problems for a stock 1995 integra ls.
Heres what happens:
-I turn the key. Dash lights up, windows radio, etc work.
-Then, I hear a click, but nothing else. No turning of the motor.
-Turning the key multiple times doesn't kill the battery. Just more click sounds.
-I hear the fuel pump/line from the rear of the vehicle.
Now things I've tried:
-I have hit the starter. This helped in the beginning, but then this method would rarely work (1 in 10 times/ coincidence).
-I have fiddled with the clutch sensor. Didn't help. Maybe I did it wrong. Please remind me/tell me how to check this.
-When I have a hard time starting, I press down on the clutch pedal again and move the shifter around by moving gears from 2nd to 3rd to reverse. This seems to help, but takes several attempts, so maybe again its just a coincidence that the car starts.
-I've checked the battery voltage/power. The battery is good.
Things to note:
-This has been going on for a year and a half. Yes, over a year. Call me dumb, but I hate to pay for something that I could have solved myself. I have neglected this problem, but its been having a hard time starting more recently.
-This problem used to only happen when the weather is cold. And just in the mornings. Coincidence again?
-Now this problem happens almost every other time I start the car. Morning, night, in between errands in the middle of the day.
I have read the previous posts, but please amuse me and re tell me your thoughts. Much thanks.

I would bet money that is is your ground wire or the pass. side going from the body to the motor. Happened to me too in a 96 LS. Just try sanding it down and putting it back on.
My friend had that problem as well it turned out being his ECT sensor it was causing his car to run out of wack and dump more fuel because it thought it was still running cold. https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-integra-6/integra-wont-start-after-being-driven-while-2549684/
the humming you are hearing is the fuel pump priming when you turn the key to acc.
