Default Smog problems and smog is due next month!!

So heres the deal i have a 00 ek with a 97 gsr swap. It does not have a cat, has dc headers, and aem intake. I dont want to get it passed illegally. I want to BAR it and of course smog cuz its due next month, so i need a cat obviously.

So my question is do i just get a cat and have it welded on?
What kind of cat do i need?
thanks

Well if my memory dont serve me wrong, i believe to bar the engine it has to be the same year as your chasis or newer. So there is your first problem. I could be wrong or you could be lucky and they wont check the stamp on head. I also believe you need a cat for a integra.

you need 00' swap to get it bar'd and the rules have changed alot its getting harder to bar swaps no way to fly straight with what you have.

Well since you cant bar it, and replacing cat would be more $. I would just get someone to pass it.

well first off u cant buy a used cat it is illegal in Cali to sell used cats. you cannot bar ur civic because of veh/engine year. what i would do is go to a shop that sells cali certified replacement cats and have them put one on, smog it and see if it passes... the smog tech will tell u to go home untill u have a legit cat... start there. make sure you have your evap system still in and operational in your vehicle, no CELS, if you do dont try and pull a bulb or fuse, he has to hook a scanner to it.. this will get you to wear u need to be
