im in the middle of a swap for my eg

my only question is pertaining to the distributer...

since my z6 is vtec and the y7 is not

do i need an obd1 non vtec distributer?

the y7 will be run with a p28 ecu

any help is apreciated.

 

y7 does not fit z6, housing bolts dont match.

 

If i'm reading it right and its a Y7 going into an OBD1 chassis use a D15B7/D15B8 distributor.

 

would a D16A6 distributor work as well?

 

no, use the z6 housing and change everything over.

No. The Z6 housing does not bolt up to a Y7 head. Use a D15B7/D15B8 distributor, bolts up and plugs in perfectly for this particular setup.
