Advice on Choosing a Distributor Z6/Y8
Alright, I've bought a couple of distributors and they've been wrong. What should I buy next?
Z6 Vtec Dizzy
Y8 Vtec Dizzy
Here's my Setup:
92 Civic Hatch DX
98 Y8 Motor
The dizzy's I've bought have been non-vtec (even though they've said they were) and do not line up. My biggest question is whether the angle of the cam is the same for the Z6 and Y8 motors.
The original dizzy is NOT available.

I would use the y8 dizzy so that it fits the head, but im not sure if it would plug right up. If not, you might have to use the z6 and just drill the little slot over more so you can bolt it up.

Get a y7 or y8 dist and just repin it to the obd1 dist connectors. It's easy since I'm using a y5(HX) head on a z6 shortblock and running a p28 and it's fine. The y5,y7,y8 all are from the same head castings and use the same dist. bolt pattern and dist I believe. Don't worry about the vtec dist and nonvtec dist and what ecu to use. Get a y7 since those are pretty easy to find and cheaper. Everything lines up perfectly and don't worry about the angle of the cam.
