Hey whats up HT. I just had my 2001 GSR stolen and picked up a new project. 99 SSBP GSR.

Here is a pic of my old one after it was stripped(sold it that same week), and the new SSBP when i got it......needed ALOT of work but will be making progress. The SSBP GSR Is currently sitting on jackstands in my garage with no interior, motor or wheels. I bought a USDM Type R cluster and added it today. I'm selling the old GSR one! I bought mint condition OEM fenders, headlights and bumper as mine were damaged and I dont want them repaired at the paint shop!



More pics of the progress thus far will be added tomorrow. I pulled the GSR engine out and sold the block. I'm using my GSR head for the build. Picking up a JDM B20 this week. More goodies to come!

thats the only reason I didnt keep it...I always wanted a super sonic blue gsr...I couldnt find one for a while so I jumped on it as soon as I saw it! and it was BONE STOCK! Bought it off a girl.....I couldnt leave it!

Those black housing headlights are junk! I bought some a long time ago and trashed them about a week later. I couldn't see 10 feet with them, and the angel eyes looked like crap.

I see you went with OEM this time, similar experience?

yeah i got the black housings with the car...I didnt like them either I am staying with the OEM headlights with HID's this time...Off to the garage to take pics of the progress so far...

Ok so I picked up a GSR head today.....really good condition, and a Skunk 2 intake manifold....Took the head straight to the machine shop for a clean-up, shaving, valve job....the works. Here are the pics.I will post more pics when the head comes from the machine shop...Stay tuned for the b20 block I will be purchasing next week.

 

Nice, keep it up dated I also have a ssbp project that I'm working on. Until I got mine I had never even seen this color, still none that I know of locally but they seem to be popping up all over.

 

yeah I like them cuz they are rare......only made for one year......and the color is nice....I've seen maybe 2 more in orlando but not much

 

As a SSBP 99 GSR owner nice to see another one surviving. Sort of, still lots of work needed.
I would strongly suggest getting rid of the Skunk2 Manifold. It is the old design for the GSR. The runners angle doesn't match up to the GSR Intake port angle. Is it better than the GSR IM, yes. But there are better ones out there.
Are you getting a B20 block or a sleeved and bored B18C?

 

99+ b20 block....Yeah I know it needs some work cuz I took everything apart to do it over but trust me....its VERY much still surviving!

I've heard about 300 each year, but I have never confirmed this.
