My friend has a 97 ek hatch that was burned a bit when the garage caught on fire,basically hes asking 1000 for it.

What i can see that it needs,windshield,gutter molding.headlight,tail light,door moldings,mirror,front and rear bumper covers, and a paint job.was thinking just to flat green or black it.

plans for the car are basically a second car for running around and for winter driving.

 

so all we're talking about is some cosmetic damage?

if its driveable, take it for a spin before you buy it, do some homework on how much its gonna cost to fix everything

1000 for an ek (depending which engine) is a deal

 

yea i should look up some part prices,yea all cosmetic it drives.

it has a 1.6 sohc vtec in there now.

 

if you have the money to fix it, sounds like a good deal

 

post pics so we can see how bad the damage is.

if your only aspirations are for a second car for a beater i'd say do it.

 

cosmetics are nothing I would do it. How many miles?

 

Heres the worst part of the damage, theres only 140xxx kms on it.

 

Well this makes it a great time to lose that bodykit if you get the car.

thats just paint work, moldings that need to be done

shouldnt be more than another 1000 for all that

 

deffinetely x2 on that, i'd consider it a blessing in disguise haha.

my only concerns were if it was that hot if it melted any wiring, or even melted interior pieces such as vents inside the dash. deffinetely test everything out.

 

oh that nasty body kit is coming off, all interior panels show no signs of damage but i will check as much as i can.

 

Stay away! Burned cars caca, im sure u will find all kinds of unexpected problems
