Can i use blox vavle springs?
street.im going to build my head but i have a ticking sound and i talked to one of my buddys and he said it was the vavle springs so i was going to just replace it with the blox instead of oem.
you may just need a valve adjustment. if you have stock cams, theres no reason to upgrade valve springs really. if you are upgrading your cams, then i would change the valve springs and cams at the same time so you save some work for yourself. and the ticking sound you are hearing could just be the fuel injectors.
Blox is decent, wouldn't be my first brand of choice but I haven't really seen them fail on any one. What cams are you planning on using? If this is a street car, stay away from titanium retainers. They will flatten out and become brittle, and some times need replacing before 20k miles.
As for the ticking, it could be the valve lash, or it could be the LMA's, depending on if you have a vtec or non-vtec. I have also never heard of this injector tick like every one always talks about, not with stock injectors at least.

hmmm...ticking sound...
sounds like the Lost motion assemblies.
No need to upgrade valvesprings now, and then take everything apart to built it again...if youre gonna do it, buy all the parts, and do it at once. Why pay to pull the head apart 2 times when you can save some money by just doing it once.
To disassemble and assemble a head, usually the charge is between 350-500 bucks, therefore you would spend 1000 bucks the most to disassemble it 2 times, for 2 different reasons. Save your money, buy some vp, retainers, cams, valves etc and do it all at once. No need to pay for disassembly 2 times if you plan on doing it anyway down the road.

Dont mean to thread jack but can anyone second this? Had this happen to them or seen it happen by experience? I personally never heard of this.
