Default forged or cast in ls vtec????(pistons)

i know that since there is not going to be oil squiters in my block that the forged would handle the heat better, but i have ctr pistons right now. the queston is, is it better to go with forged or cast?????
thanks for your opions in advace

if you are using stock rods, they have holes to spray oil in the direction of the pistons
but i wouldnt worry too much either way

Piston material depends on your final setup goal. NA, you should be fine with cast. Their best asset is they are lightweight. If you are running rather high compression ratios, I'd do my best to keep the motor happy. Tune it properly (fuel+timing), cold plugs, run an oil cooler, lower temp thermostat, go over the cc and pistons and make sure there are no potential detonation inducing hotspots, make sure your clearances are perfect, etc. If you plan on boosting, no question, go with forged pieces.

no its going to be all motor but its going to have rather high compression and i was just thinking i might as well put some good pistons in there becaue everthing else is rather nice

Well, if budget is not an issue, I'd maybe consider some really high CR pistons that have been massaged to reduce detonation and allow you to run pump gas...Endyn for instance has some really nice wiseco offerings that allow you to do this.

The ls doesn't have oil squirters, forged internals resist heat better, and forged is better...if you have the cash. I'd get eagle rods and some type of forged pistons if I had the cash (or a car for that matter).
