Default New to honda's a few questions

Hey everyone
Total Honda noob here.

today i picked up a 90 accord LX with the F22A1 its got the automatic tranny power locks yadda yadda all of that sweet stuff so anyways i pick it up and was told that it needs a new radiator and it overheats. So taking a risk i drive it 13 miles across town to my house all the way there i have my heater on full blast and the temp gauge never goes above 1/2 stays around a quarter doesnt over heat. So that's good. . . . get it home start it up looking around the engine bay and what not and then i go too look at the temp gauge its above the red so at first i freak then i shut it down (intimidate reaction) then i get to thinking about it its not really running rough or too hot. about what i figure would be normal operating temp. . then i look at the green connector on the thermostat housing (the one that the top rad hose goes too) and its loose and is easily disconnected but when unplugged or plugged in it doesn't make any difference on the temp gauge. . . any ideas if it was actually over heating or just the gauge wigging out?

Also the windows have power when the ignition switch is turned off and the key is out of the car. That im sure is not normal the car is a theft recovery so is there a wire thats crossed somewhere or is the switch just bad?

Sorry for the long post but i got alot of questions pretty interested in this car
thanks guys!
