what exactly does a girdle do
helps stabilize the bottem end. block, crank and rods whle rotating...vibrations and such at higher rpm.

alright thanks guys for the little help now I knw and it sounds like its worth it if I plan on revving hi I mean not all the way to 10K and all but I like how it sounds that itll help.
girdles get mixed opinions here. Some people swear by 'em and some people say they do more harm then good (some how). I personally wouldnt bother but if you'd feel safer winding out a motor with a girdle then go for it.
IMO I dont feel they are needed unless you plan to specifically road race the car. Those cars tend to be in the upper rpm range for extended periods of time. Most of the drag cars on here dont have em. I thought about putting one on my newest build and still I chose not to. That couple of hundred bucks IMO opinion can be better spent elsewhere. Dont forget you have to use a gsr pan, pickup, and need an align hone after its installed
