you have to swap the e brake cables over. Drum brake cables dont work for it. thats where you went wrong. Yes Si brake lines will work, even stock Si lines will work
ok... this is weird then, i was told if i do rear disc on my ef hb that i would need to get da e brake cables correct? but i got my brakes off of a 01 gsr, and i used the dc cables, and they fit almost perfect, just needed to switch the brackets over, is this making any sense?
U can install the SI brake lines with your DA setup...I have exactly the same setup but with the DA e brake cables as well. My setup brakes as fast as I put my foot on the pedal. also when you finish installing your Rear brakes, make sure you adjust them properly...
I used 90-91 CRX si brake lines and parking brake cables and everything worked perfect in my CRX. I think some people may get confused by people saying to get Si lines. Civic Si did not come with rear disk, you have to get 90-91 CRX si lines, those were the only ef's that came with rear disk in the states. If you are buying new brake lines you might as well just get the CRX si ones.
If you have a hatch you will still use the CRX brake lines, but I think you will need DA cables because the hatch is longer than the rex. There are probably other cables that will work.. its just a matter of finding a cable thats long enough to fit your chassis.
I haven't tried but I think you could probably get away with using just about any civic/integra brake lines as long as the car had rear disk. Again I haven't tried it so I could be wrong but I don't think they changed how they connect to the chassis or the caliper, you just wouldn't want something that was too long or too short. This is for 88-00 civics, I don't know anything about the newer ones because I think they're ugly. Actually it would be 90-00, the crx didn't come with disks until 90.

to answer the original poster. i have compared the rear DA trailing arms to my CRX trailing arms and the brake lines are pretty identical. i would say its safe to go with the crx Si brake lines.
as for the fronts. im sorry i dont have confirmed answer.

and since we are on the topic of e-brake cables, i happen to have a picture of my stock drums compared to my DA integra rear disc brake side by side. the DA cable length is a perfect match with the a 88-91 hatchback.
I used 99 integra rears with crx si brake lines on my hatch. The banjo fit well on the caliper but the brackets didnt quite line up with the brackets on the trailing arm. I should have used the teg lines. Oh well. Still works.
