Default Oil Change. Engine Flush vs Kerosene Vs. Auto Tranny Fluid

Ok, just read thread on changing oil and this is what sparked this thread off. Someone sayz an oil flush don't do jack, basically kerosene. If you want to flush engine, drain oil and use 4 quarts of kerosene to flush for 5 mins. w/engine running. Was he being serious? Also, I have heard if your soon to change your oil, you can add 1 quart automatic tranny fluid to your crankase about a week before changing your oil and it will flush/clean out your engine. Any opinions/thoughts/knowledge?

i don't know about the kerosene man, but the auto tranny fluid i have heard but a little different. Basically you add it and a quart is really too much but you add it and it smokes like crazy and it will clean it out. It is an old skool trick i use sometimes when rebuilding small engines. It helps remove carbon build up but the proper way to do it, is to add a little dab in the spark plug hole with either some octane booster or some other really hot fuel. Very very little is the key and turn it over and it will smoke a little and then be kosher.

another thing you can do is, grab yourself a spray bottle with water... pull off your intake tube, grab the throttle rotor, and rev the car up around 3k rpms... then begin to spray water into the intake... keep the motor revving, as it will want to bog when you put the water in... This will make your valves nice and shiny new...
