So, I have my 96' EJ8 for a while now and recently It has started to bog at low RPM. Let's say I'm going 35mph at like 2 or 3K and when I step on the gas a little to speed up, It lags, Bogs for a little bit and I'd step on the gas harder and it'll be normal again. I just replaced my Fuel Filter today and it's still doing the same thing..Anyone ever encounter this problem?? Thanks

 

sounds like your timing is a bit retarded.

 

So could my timing belt be loose or off? cuz I never messed with my timing belt before.

 

check the distributor, mine does the same but from the start till 3k.

 

take out the fuel rail and take out the injectors, clean the injectors and take out the filter for the injectors, clean the filter and injectors with carb cleaner. i would try that

 

Or you could just run some Techron through there along with Chevron gas (if its available) for a double shot of Techron. That cleans out fuel injectors pretty nicely.

 

It Happen to me one time, of Injectors didnt help, try new Spark plug, SP wires, dizzy cap..

 

Last guy I talked with had a similar problem. Trying turning your car on and adjusting the distributor. If you timing is a bit retarded, that means you should adjust the distributor and advance it a little. If you mess with it, and then you use the throttle on the intake to see if it still bogs, you should be able to at least get it to normal that way.
