vtec does not come on

Default vtec does not come on

i had a b16 i think obd-1 but i got a b16a2 head and everything is connected no check lights are on. My vtec is not coming on. why is that?

because vtec needs oil pressure for it to work, also do you have any cel's? if your cel is on that will prevent vtec as well.

you need to flip the VTEC switch for it to come on. Your VTEC switch must be in the off position.

A lot of people here want to help you out but be more specific when you need something trouble shooted.

You dont just tell your doctor that somethings wrong with you and expect him to magically know whats up with you without knowing details.

check pin goin to ecu. may not be connected well enough. had that problem with a prelude once.

what kind of vehicle are we talking about? is this a swapped motor? do u a the proper ecu? if your vtec is inop. it should give you a dtc code (check engine light)

I have a 93 civic coupe b16 swap p28 ecu. The oil is fine and i jumped the ecu still nothing. The only cel its giving me is TDC sensor 8 code. the vtec was working with my old head. should i try my old vtec?

X2 thats the first thing you learn have to do when you get a honda!


Im pretty sure a TDC cell would keep you from being able to hit vtec

yeah i switched it on and i beat lambo lol
well that code has been on for couple of months im going to take it to the dealer. im tired of that light lol.

Is the timing good? TDC stands for top dead center... if that sensor is going off, maybe your timing is bad? Where is RonJ?? He could answer this with a quickness. Cheers!!

ya today I raced a new Si in my Built Turbo D. I thought he might win so i turned on VTEC and I raped him by 3 cars.



(real race & results, fake VTEC story).

do u know that the tdc is part of the distributor on obd0, right?

wat does the OP's problem have to do with OBD0? He doesnt have OBD0.

ok im going to re-check my timing. do the "up" on the sprockets exactly 90 degrees from the cam sprockets?? or the floor?
