i have a 91 ef sedan automatic. when i start it and its cold. it dosent want to shift in the second. until it warms up to normal temp. what could be the problem? is the automatic solenoid that sits on top of the tranny? help me out!!

 

my sedan did that once i took the soleniods off and they were plugged up, i cleaned them and it never happened again

 

is is what i was talking about then? what you clean it with brake part cleaner??

did you clean the solenoids yet?
Asking 3 days in a row without trying anything doesn't help much.

Might want to change the tranny fluid as well.

When I had the auto tranny waaay back in time it DIED.
There is a divider plate in the tranny that broke free and rotated along with the gears.
Was not cool. Mechanic said it was a semi-common problem with dead Honda trannies.
Anyway , it was a gradual failure that acted similar to what you are describing at first.
Hope yours is just a clogged solenoid.
