Hey guys, im have a bit of a problem. I just rebuilt my a3. the block is all oem besides the type s crank and oil pump and the valvetrain is all skunk2 with stage 1 cams. I do not have kpro and really need/want it but also do not have a race header. I dont beat on the car at all i baby the hell out of it but im not sure if i should buy a header or save and get kpro first? which do you think would be smarter? i know kpro will be more of a reasonable mod but how much power will i be losing without a header? thanks.

 

I would get a kpro and save up for a good header if i were you. Running better and safer > making 10 more hp.

Like everyone has been saying, K-Pro is the way to go. You will not only be able to maximize the performance mods you have now but for future mods (such as header) down the road. When I was running the stock A3 the race header alone made about 12 whp but after adding the K-Pro it added another 17 whp on top of that. I have since swapped to a K20A2 and I am glad I had bought the K-Pro so I don't have to search for an RSX-S ECU. I also plan to boost in the future so the K-Pro will also be used for that application as well should I go down that route. I would suggest purchasing one from Corsportusa.com. They are EP3 fanatics as well. Good luck.

That is almost at stock RSX-S power which is around 175whp on our dyno.

yeah i got my new headlights, i just moved up to p.a for school but there are meets every tuesday (or i think they just moved to wednesday) by the bay bridge in MD by my house. you should come up there one night, they are pretty big and we would be the only ep's there.
